Tharawal CDEP
The Community Development Employment
Projects was introduced in1977 at the request of Indigenous
communities.
It provides work for unemployed Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people in their own communities.
Empowering them to develop their own projects and goals,
and to reduce their dependence on Centrelink payments.
Tharawal
CDEP is auspiced under the Tharawal Local Aboriginal
Land Council and services the community in the following
ways.
Lawn
Mowing
mowing
lawns for Homecare clients and private homes.
Arts
and craft
our
Couridjah site has an arts and craft shop and is able
to undertake silk sreening and small comission works.
Cultural
Workshops
to
assist groups.
Accomodation
is
available as either bunk style at our Couridjah property
or in a more formal manner at Gibbergunyah
in Picton. |
